Job Description
Position Summary:
Assist with the daily operations of the lab including ordering of supplies, organizing lab resources, disposing of waste, and training students. The hire will also be required to perform experiments involving the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus.

Primary Accountabilities:
1. Assist the day-to-day operations in the lab. This includes, but is not limited to, coordinating students to work on the daily chores from the determined pre-chores chart; maintaining biosafety standards in the lab and reporting any unsafe actions to direct supervisor; providing safety training for new students; teaching students how to follow the step-by-step processes for performing experiments to maintain consistency; providing technical assistance as needed to students while conducting experiments; ordering the pre-determined inventory of supplies; maintaining equipment and reporting any issues to direct supervisor, and organizing freezers.

2. Research. The successful applicant will perform experiments as directed by Dr. Carroll. Experiments performed will follow established protocols in the Carroll lab. Some data analysis.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology or related field.
Minimum of 1 year related experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Pay Rate
Minimum $14.65 hourly rate.
