Job Description
As a member of TGen's Accounting Department, the Sr. Accountant will support the accounting, finance and reporting needs of TGen and the Foundation. The incumbent should be a highly motivated self-starter with complex reconciliation experience and an understanding of highly specialized accounting concepts to be successful in the following responsibilities.
- Manage the daily operational workflow ensuring all philanthropic revenue is processed according to current policies, procedures, GAAP and IRS guidelines; and manage proper accounting for all donations and pledges via monthly journal entries as part of month-end close
- Maintain restricted fund reconciliation and provide information about these funds to Finance team; monitor collections and collectability of all pledges in accordance with established policies; and research and correct historical gift and pledge entries in Access Hope (Blackbaud CRM) as identified
- Coordinate and assist preparing the Foundation budget, track variances between budgeted and actual results, prepare and present financial reports to leadership or other stakeholders as appropriate; proactively identify and implement initiatives to make department more efficient and cost-effective; collect, analyze and interpret financial and fundraising data as requested
- Coordinate preparation of Foundation check requests, purchase orders, invoice processing and provide the appropriate coding for these items; prepare account reconciliations timely
- Prepare audit schedules as requested and lead/coordinate team efforts to meet all audit timelines and deadlines; and ensure compliance and completion of all annual philanthropy benchmark surveys.
