Summary

A Post-Doctoral Research Associate position is available in the Laboratory for Regenerative Tissue Repair within the Department of Surgery at the Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas with a focus on gynecologic health.

Job Duties

  • Pioneers research in device design and vaginal tissue health.
  • Conducts independent lab research using in vitro and in vivo models to elucidate mechanisms of vaginal healing.
  • Assesses biomechanical properties of vaginal tissue to inform device design, work with computer
    simulation.
  • Assists in expanding the TMC-wide Vaginal Tissue Biobank.
  • Assists in testing novel devices in women’s health.
  • Contributes to the dissemination of ideation and findings through grants, publications, and
    conference proceedings.
  • Engages in rigorous and collaborative research focused on device design and testing.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous laboratory work experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, creative thinking, problem solving, initiative-taking.
  • Passion for women’s health, device design, and/or entrepreneurship
