Job Description
Summary
Research Technician II position is available in Dr. Yi Zhu’s laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics. The laboratory uses biochemistry, molecular biology, cell culture, imaging, and rodent physiology to understand adipose tissue gap junction and its relation to the whole-body metabolism. They are looking for a research technician who can assist in mouse colony management, perform routine molecular biology procedures such as DNA, RNA, and protein isolation, qPCR, western blotting, immunofluorescence staining, and cell culture after provided training in the lab.
Job Duties

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with mouse, cell culture, or any bench work in an academic or industry lab (not in the classroom) is desired.
