POSITION SUMMARY

As the New Technologies and Innovation Leader, you will be responsible for leading and driving innovation initiatives and evaluating emerging technologies to unlock new opportunities for the Pharmaceutical Sciences Small Molecules organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and implement innovative ideas and solutions that enhance our products, services, and processes. You will research and analyze new technologies relevant to pharmaceutical development and manufacturing, evaluate the potential impact of these technologies, explore the use of these technologies in our business processes and eventually lead the implementation of these technologies.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consult with internal key stakeholders to understand current and future business needs to develop proof of concepts based on new and emerging technologies.
  • Identify emerging trends, technologies, and industry best practices that can be leveraged to drive innovation and create a competitive advantage.
  • Manage and execute emerging technology and innovation objectives, roadmap and KPIs.
  • Evaluate and prioritize innovation projects based on their potential impact, feasibility, and resource requirements.
  • Develop strategic partnerships, relationships, and alliances to develop new technology capabilities.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions and workshops to generate creative ideas and solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and customers to advance the adoption of new technology.
  • Manage the end-to-end innovation process, from ideation and prototyping to testing and implementation.
  • Foster a culture of innovation within the organization by promoting a mindset of continuous improvement and creative thinking.
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in technology and industry trends to ensure our organization remains at the forefront of innovation.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in business, engineering, computer science or relevant discipline and a minimum of 5 years of experience leading innovation initiatives and managing technology-driven projects OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science or relevant discipline and a minimum of 7 years of experience leading innovation initiatives and managing technology-driven projects.
  • Strong knowledge of digital technologies and programming languages.   
  • Strong communication skills—written, presentation and verbal.
  • Experience leading and influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing partnerships and collaborations with external stakeholders.
  • Experience managing multiple projects effectively prioritizing and driving to action.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical research and development processes
  • Experience working with emerging technologies (e.g., Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Internet of Things (IoT) etc.)
  • Experience working in various hardware and software platforms (e.g., High Performance Computing, Cloud)

  
Work Location Assignment: On Premise


The annual base salary for this position ranges from $93,500.00 to $155,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
