Job Description

Overall responsibilities:

Overall responsibility is to assist sales and enhance market penetration through regular monitoring of data analytics of financial and sales trends. To help sales management to achieve the sales budget through establishing sound business plans and sales rep territory alignment to achieve dollar volume and goals. Analyze and push established Nikon Centers to develop business plans and reinvest in the Centers.  Perform proper Center contract management and audits to ensure representation of Microscopy and Imaging Products.  Keep Sales Management apprised of sales, marketing and product activity.  This is a role providing essential service to assist sales management in making informed decisions based primarily on financial analytics. The employee spends significant amounts of time working in research laboratories at universities, hospitals, Biotech and other related biomedical institutions.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Management of business proposals, contracts, financial, and material spend for Nikon Center of Excellence (NCOE) accounts. Pre-sale calling on the account for contract renegotiation and financial planning.
  • Periodic onsite audits of NCOE to ensure comprehensive contract adherence and regular Nikon healthcare product marketability and biotech outreach goals are achieved.
  • NCOE financial audit and analysis: invest spend trends cycles, funding source, and recommended action plan for sales management based on investment profile (CAPEX to space ratios) and opportunities for growth.
  • Financial analysis of Nikon’s healthcare private market segments: biotech, VC, PE, and startup.
  • Field meetings with sales management and teams for budget and territory analysis.
  • Expand sales channels to increase market penetration in designated product areas and markets through individual actions as well as a part of the coordinated sales team.
  • Financial sales budget database input and monitoring.
  • Financial reporting and historical performance analysis.
  • Provide territory and rep financial data analytics through Salesforce: sales, win/loss ratios, and correlating the financial trends: public and private funding with where our business is coming from.
  • Assistance with contracting and communications for sales meeting venues: internal and external.
  • Prepare and deliver professional presentations on sales data analytics and financial targets.
  • Attend and actively participate in company activities, including sales meetings, training classes, workshops, seminars and trade shows as required.
  • Market analysis through federal and private reporting for both publicly funded institutions and private market financial analysis. This will require interdepartmental collaboration with the Marketing Analysts.
  • Data manipulation and presentation via MS Excel is required. Expert level use of MS Excel or other database software is preferred.
  • Monitor all incoming inquiries via telephone and e-mail and ensure timely response. Act with a sense of business urgency and in accordance with company timelines.
  • Routinely work outside of normal hours of operation, as needed, in order to fulfill essential responsibilities.
  • Perform administrative and recordkeeping responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner:
    • Scheduling
    • Expense Reports
    • Expenses and Mileage recordkeeping
    • Periodic (Weekly/Monthly) Status and Production Reports
    • Database Management
  • Other Duties as assigned

Education, skills & experience:

  • B.A. in Finance, Business Administration, or Economics
  • Current, valid Driver license
  • Previous experience in Finance Audit, Discovery, and Analytics gathering via a database is highly Preferred.
  • Previous experience reporting of financial data, trends, and sales data.
  • Experience with MS applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software
    • MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint / Keynote.
  • Aptitude to recognize trends in data and present it in a meaningful way to sales management.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate internally and externally, representing the Company professionally and effectively to customers and other external sources.
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25bs
  • Ability to travel by car, public transportation, or air, overnight included, up to ~20% (varies by territory and project)
  • Ability to routinely access and visit customer sites to evaluate needs, promote product or service product (Up to 50% field work at customer sites)
  • Ability to communicate with people outside of the organization representing the Company to customers, government and other sources.
  • Capability to prioritize and multi-task, managing multiple projects of varying magnitudes and velocities

Compensation depends on a variety of factors including but not limited to; knowledge, skills, experience, education and location.  The range for this position is $70,000 plus commission.
