Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for sterilizing, processing, and maintaining supplies, instruments, and equipment in a fast-paced healthcare environment, ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients. This opportunity is for 8-hour shifts and is designated for the evening shift, with a 3:00 pm start time.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Supply Sterilization:Perform the decontamination, cleaning, disinfection, assembly, and sterilization of medical instruments, supplies, and equipment using approved sterilization techniques and equipment.
  • Supply Restocking:Replenish and maintain storage of supplies and case cart systems to ensure the availability of sterile equipment and instruments for surgical and medical procedures.
  • Inventory Control:Manage inventory control procedures, including labeling and proper documentation of sterilized packages, and monitor inventory levels to meet departmental needs.
  • GI Scope Processing:Process and maintain endoscopic instruments, including GI scopes, to the highest standards, ensuring patient safety and infection control.
  • Quality Assurance:Report faulty equipment, deficiencies in procedures, and non-compliance with sterilization standards, contributing to the safety and quality of patient care.
  • Educational Participation:Actively participate in educational programs and in-service meetings to stay updated on best practices, new technologies, and changes in sterilization protocols.
  • Timeliness:Perform all duties efficiently and under urgent timelines to support surgical schedules and patient care.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training.
  • Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements.
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician or 1 year of sterile processing experience in an acute care setting.
  • Maintains knowledge in surgical and medical technology through inservices/courses.
  • BLS (through the American Heart Association), is required.
  • CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) is preferred.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $22.57 - $33.42 / hour
