Pfizer is seeking an experienced and adept Sr. Business Product Manager, Privacy to spearhead our Privacy product and engineering functions. This pivotal role involves monitoring and interpreting the global privacy landscape, understanding the implications of changing regulations on Pfizer's marketing and advertising products and services, and devising sustainable, compliant solutions that align with our business goals.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage privacy operations and engineering programs, leveraging in-depth knowledge of domestic and international data protection laws, and understanding of technology and product engineering requirements.
- Act as the primary contact for privacy issues, offering expert guidance to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Oversee and refine Pfizer’s integrated privacy review mechanism for the introduction and enhancement of products and features.
- Utilize your expertise in privacy to guide the creation of user consents, set data collection norms, advise on data storage and processing strategies, and ensure that marketing products and services align with privacy standards and business goals.
- Convert privacy policies into practical, actionable technical requirements.
- Collaborate with product managers and privacy experts to foster agreement on innovative solutions for privacy-centric design issues.
- Effectively disseminate privacy-related decisions across various teams, guaranteeing their accurate execution.
- Enable product teams to develop new, compliance-focused products and services by providing guidance on incorporating regulatory requirements in a customer-friendly manner, while ensuring full compliance.
- Continuously monitor the global privacy landscape, identifying compliance gaps or risks, and facilitating necessary changes to mitigate risks and ensure alignment with Global Privacy standards.
- Cultivate relationships with external privacy authorities and industry groups for collaboration and staying updated on privacy trends.
- Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 7+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
- Experience conducting privacy impact assessments and data protection impact assessments.
- You possess expertise in privacy-enhancing technologies and adhere to privacy-by-design principles.
- Your expertise as a subject matter expert is evident in guiding products and businesses through various privacy-related aspects, including data collection, storage, access, use, and deletion.
- You have a distinguished history of resolving multifaceted issues, balancing technical, business, regulatory, and organizational factors.
- Your communication skills are well-organized and effective, catering to a diverse audience including technical teams, executive leadership, and cross-disciplinary groups.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience managing security or privacy compliance related engineering programs.
- IAPP Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) is preferred.
- Experience managing advertising privacy with major providers such as Google and Meta, and self regulatory engagements such as IAB, NAI, and DAA.
- Deep knowledge of privacy regulations and requirements, including operationalization of GDPR,
ePrivacy, CPRA, and others.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $117,300.00 to $195,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
