management responsibilities

We are seeking a distinguished researcher, internationally recognized for their outstanding achievements in the dynamic field of experimental materials-oriented Physical Chemistry. The candidate is expected to contribute significantly to advancing Ulm University's strategic research priorities in 'Energy Conversion and Storage' and 'Quantum Science and Technology'.

The primary focus of the research should center on modern aspects of surface chemistry. The successful candidate is expected to enhance Ulm University's existing interdisciplinary research endeavors, particularly within the Cluster of Excellence “Post Lithium Storage” (POLiS), and the collaborative research center CataLight on Light-driven Molecular Catalysts in Hierarchically Structured Materials. Additionally, fostering collaboration within the inter-university platforms CELEST (Ulm-Karlsruhe) and IQST (Ulm-Stuttgart) is crucial.

Collaboration with esteemed local non-university institutes, such as the Helmholtz Institute Ulm (HIU), the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research (ZSW), and the German Aerospace Center (DLR) Institute of Quantum Technologies, is strongly encouraged.

Teaching responsibilities encompass the comprehensive spectrum of Physical Chemistry within the Chemistry programs. The candidate is also expected to actively participate in external teaching programs and engage in academic self-governance.

Employment requirements are completed university studies as well as teaching aptitude, a doctoral degree and further pertinent scientific achievements (§ 47 LHG).
