The Research Finance Manager at City of Hope, under the Director of Research Finance, oversees daily department operations, focusing on financial management, budgeting, and analysis. They ensure the integrity of all Research funds, collaborating closely with research leadership. The role involves achieving financial performance goals, ensuring compliance with sponsor regulations, and improving overall efficiency in collaboration with other departments. Responsibilities also include resolving administrative issues, reviewing research expenditures, and portfolio management for research leadership.

As a successful candidate, you will:

· Develop, manage, and report on clinical and basic research budgets; review and approve/deny expense requests.

· Directly manage portfolio projects and provide financial guidance and training to staff.

· Design and implement concise financial management reports; streamline financial processes.

· Manage the capital process and compile/track grant funding and research cost data.

· Stay updated on financial management trends; apply higher-order analytics for performance assessments.

· Utilize advanced forecasting models and data analytics tools for strategic financial planning and sophisticated data visualization.

Your qualifications should include:

· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field

· Master’s degree and/or CPA License preferred

· 5+ years of experience in Basic Research/Clinical Research within healthcare or academia

· 1 year of leadership experience

· Expertise in using data analytics tools like Power BI for financial reporting and analysis.

· Strong GAAP knowledge

· Familiarity with state and federal policies affecting Research and Grant financial activities

· Current understanding of 2CFR 200 audit requirements and A-122 cost principles

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $53.08 - $88.64 / hour
