Job Description

Position Description
The connectomics data technician will perform computational aspects of electron, X-ray, and light microscopy data generation, processing, and analysis under the supervision of the lab head, postdocs, and graduate students. This includes assisting with data acquisition, processing, analysis, as well as computational systems and data management. Specific tasks include large-scale image data inspection, transfer, and alignment. Helping to train, evaluate, and deploy artificial neural networks for image data segmentation and feature inference. Will be engaged in collaborative efforts and also help train new users. Will also be expected to contribute to continuing development of high-throughput connectomic workflows by reporting, troubleshooting, and advancing pipelines for new projects.
Basic Qualifications
  • College background or equivalent work experience, preferably in a related discipline.
Additional Qualifications and Skills
  • One year of related work experience (relevant course work may count towards experience).
  • Demonstrated abilities in laboratory or computational techniques required.
  • High attention to detail and appropriate communications skills required.
  • Prior experience with X-ray and/or EM techniques is preferred.
Additional Information
This is a 12-month term appointment with the possibility of renewal contingent on funding.
