The Business Coordinator / Manager for IP and Technology Licensing role reports to S&TPO’s Director of Commercialization.  This role is focused on supporting the Director and the Team of Innovation and Commercialization Managers (ICMs) with business analysis and intelligence, internal stakeholder and external vendor management, and coordination between ICM, Sponsored Research, Legal, Contracts teams.  The extent of an applicant’s relevant experience will determine whether they qualify for the Coordinator or Manager level.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Business and functional support of Innovation and Commercialization Team  

  • Business analysis of current and potential licensees to identify licensing opportunities

  • Assist commercialization team with management of current licensee and reviews

  • Help identify and pursue non-compliant licensees, manage external compliance vendors

  • Manage team’s pipeline prioritization and related information in the system or record

  • Coordinate cross-team engagements with other teams under Commercialization

  • Help streamline internal processes and remove internal roadblocks.

  • Explore new technologies and products.

  • Drive team meetings, agendas, tracking action items, and team’s priorities.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years as a business analyst or operations of IP licensing or tech transfer functions

  • Experience with business analysis, valuation of technologies or IP, licensing audits

  • Financial acumen and ability to extract trends from limited technical and business information

  • Experience in cross-functional technical and business teams and management by influence

  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentations skills

  • Technical degree or relevant work experience in technical or science fields, MBA a plus.
