Job Description

Summary

Scientific work in a MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) lab. Projects focus on several topics in neuroscience and brain vascular physiology. The lab also develops new methods in functional MRI (fMRI), as well as studies of the physiology and physics of the fMRI response. Experiments are performed on two Siemens 3T Prisma scanners located at Baylor College of Medicine, and a research-dedicated Siemens 7T Terra scanner located nearby at Houston Methodist Hospital.

Job Duties

  • Assist with the execution and analysis of human MRI experiments regarding various neuroscience projects. 
  • Experimental execution work involves recruitment and training of subjects, execution of stimulus codes, and MRI operations. 
  • Analysis work involves use and development of various codes using Python, Matlab, and other languages. 
  • Assist also in the preparation of presentations and graphics for conference proceedings and manuscripts.
  • Assist in the development of computational models of human cerebral blood-flow physiology.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in basic science or a related field.
  • Must have at least one year of coding experience in Matlab, Python, or similar high-level language.
