Job Description

We invite applications for a Non-Tenure-Line Assistant Lecturer in Exercise Science in the School of Kinesiology. Candidates with a doctorate may be considered for the rank of Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor. The successful candidate will provide high quality teaching in the undergraduate Exercise Science program and/or Clinical Exercise Physiology (CEP) Graduate program and support the activities of the CEP program which include the Adult Physical Fitness Program (APFP). Potential courses to be taught include Exercise Prescription, Fitness Assessment, Exercise Physiology, and Electrocardiography. Research in the CEP program consists of epidemiological aspects with the Ball State Adult Fitness Longitudinal Lifestyle Study (BALL ST cohort) and traditional experimental projects with human participants. Active engagement in department, college, University, and professional service activities is also expected.

Minimum Experience:

Applicants must have a master’s degree by date of appointment in Exercise Science or closely related field from an accredited college or university. Experience in human participant research. Experience with cardiopulmonary exercise testing. Experience performing and interpreting traditional cardiovascular risk factor assessments.

Preferred Experience:

Preferred candidates will have a PhD in Exercise Science or closely related field from an accredited college or university. Experience teaching at the university level. Expertise in measures of vascular function (i.e., pulse wave analysis, flow mediated dilation). Experience working with large datasets. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
