Job Description
Job DescriptionReporting to the Director, MUIT Identity Management and Access Control, this position is responsible for providing technical support for transaction services, identity management and access control. This position supports a team responsible for the delivery of ID Services for faculty, staff, and students including facility access, meal plans, event ticketing, service authorization and a debit spending plan over a network of more than 500 readers on the main campus, regional and medical sites. The ASAP Sr position is responsible for the technical aspects and integration of all identity and access software.
Job duties and responsibilities for this position include:
Become an expert user and Administrator of Transact System Enterprise Software
Work with IT Infrastructure Systems and vendors on various applications hosted on 6 servers
Learn the various data exchanges from Banner and interfaces to other campus systems. Continually test for needed changes and improve processes. Ensure current student and employee ID privileges match the eligibility policies of the University
Work with IT Infrastructure Communications on provisioning new devices and connection troubleshooting
Work with Transact, Apple and Google on mobile credential expansion and improvements. Troubleshoot devices and make recommendations to solve issues. Test campus uses prior to general OS releases. Maintain updated technical documentation and public-facing information such as activation/use instructions. Continue to make Marshall a leader in the use of mobile credentials
Learn to manage Assa Abloy Wi-Fi lock server. Commission new Wi-Fi locksets, troubleshoot, and keep locksets and router software up-to-date. Work with contractors and locksmiths on new installations.
Become a certified Video Insight operator. Link cameras and door readers for security logs and configure alarms on sensitive spaces.
Support campus food service and student meal plans by working with the Quadpoint/Transact interface. Ensure meal plans are configured and functioning correctly in Transact and on the mobile app. Collaborate with food service contractors on mobile ordering and payments
Serve as a liaison to Transact support on problem resolution and feature development. Monitor developments of their cloud product and others in the marketplace
Cross-train with the IT Service Desk in relevant areas and identify synergies where the two front offices can corroborate to provide more efficient service.
Stay current on best practices in technologies and integrate these into the institution’s initiatives
Serve as a liaison with other departments and external organizations to support the institution’s security and technology initiatives
Ensure the support from the MU Information Technology team is a pleasant experience for faculty, staff, and students at Marshall University.
Salary Range $45,700 - $59,400 - Salary may be increased based off education, experience, and internal equity.

Education
Bachelors Degree in computer science or related field
Experience
