Job Description
The University of Illinois Chicago, College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences seeks candidates for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the field of medicinal chemistry. A PhD degree in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related discipline and relevant postdoctoral experience are required. Priority will be given to research in synthetic medicinal chemistry. Successful candidates will have the potential to develop and maintain a strong, extramurally funded, independent research program. Teaching in the professional and graduate programs of the College of Pharmacy is required.The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences comprises the basic science disciplines within the College of Pharmacy at UIC. Located in the heart of the Illinois Medical District in Chicago, the UIC College of Pharmacy consistently ranks in the Top Ten U.S. Colleges of Pharmacy in total funding from the National Institutes of Health. The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is a collaborative, research-active unit with faculty organized across four program concentrations: Chemistry in Drug Discovery, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery, and Molecular Mechanisms and Therapeutics.
