Job Description

Summary

The Research Coordinator III is responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities of research protocols which include screening, enrollment, and monitoring of research participants for the Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology Division. Ensures accurate data collection, documentation, organization and safety of research participants. The Research Coordinator III will also serve as a liaison between subject, investigators and other relevant healthcare professionals who are part of the research or patient care team. The position may include travel to other TCH sites (e.g., West Campus, etc) to conduct research related activities. 

Job Duties

  • Assist with pre-activation activities (e.g., develop study materials, such as study protocol, manual of operation, forms, questionnaires, etc.).
  • Screen Epic for eligible candidates, coordinate research visits with participant/family, obtain informed consent/assent.
  • Perform data collection from Epic.
  • Perform research related procedures as required such as venipuncture (blood draws) on study participants.
  • Supervise junior research staff and/or research volunteer teams.
  • Conduct basic biospecimen processing (e.g., spinning, aliquoting, etc.).
  • Collect, process and store or ship blood or biological specimens as outlined per study protocols and associated lab or procedural manuals.
  • Enter data into study dataset, maintain study documents and recruitment logs.
  • Provide regular updates to PI and other members of the research team.
  • Complete data required for IRB renewals, and similar research related tasks.
  • Order and maintain study supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain records and regulatory documents and records for research studies.
  • Flexibility of hours to work on occasional weekends and after hours (not exceeding 40 hours per week).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with computers, internet and Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with computer spreadsheets and database management
  • Ability to understand and implement patient studies and protocols
  • English/Spanish bilingual
