Job Description
ROLE SUMMARY
The U.S. Treasury Operations team within Pfizer Treasury is responsible for the management of the U.S. cash pool banking structure, liquidity management, intercompany loans, short-term investment/debt portfolio and related banking relationships, trade finance support (SBLC, guarantees, escrow etc.), accounting of debt instruments and derivatives, and the short-term cash forecast. The Treasury Operations team primarily supports the U.S. market (Pfizer Inc. and all its majority-owned or controlled, U.S. affiliates). The team executes and accounts for high-value and time-sensitive payments or receipts related to several initiatives such as business development, debt servicing, share repurchase, dividends and intercompany netting. Positions in the Treasury Operations team have broad exposure to colleagues in other functions within Pfizer and partake in the operational execution of Pfizer’s key financial and strategic initiatives.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
This position assists the Senior Manager of Treasury Operations, taking day-to-day responsibility for executing the daily cash position for Pfizer Inc. and its U.S. affiliates, managing the short-term investment and debt portfolio, and overseeing the short-term U.S. cash forecast for Treasury Planning purposes
Roles and Responsibilities
Determine U.S. daily cash position utilizing FIS Quantum Treasury Workstation, and either invest excess liquidity or fund deficit in accordance with the company’s Financial Risk Management Policy (FRMP)
Issue short-term debt and manage banking relationships with commercial paper dealer network
Collaborate with internal treasury constituents and external financial institutions to invest cash with a sharp focus on liquidity, safety and yield
Develop & maintain short-term cashflow forecast with input from stakeholders (legal, BD, Tax etc.)
Effectively navigate all treasury/banking platforms (primarily FIS Quantum, BAML Cashpro etc.)
Input/approve adhoc payments (low volume, high-value, time sensitive) via banking platform and Treasury payments via Quantum, while staying in compliance with Corporate Policies such as the Authorized Signers Limit (ASL) policy
Execute all funding requirements related to 120+ U.S. affiliates
Interact closely with banking contacts to stay abreast of U.S. Commercial Paper, Reverse Repurchase Agreements (repo) and Money Market Fund market dynamics
Present cash forecast to senior leadership within Treasury/Tax forums
Ensure SOX compliance for processes related to the daily cash position and field audit related questions during annual treasury audit
Execute the monthly Intercompany FX and Netting payments on behalf of all U.S. affiliates
• Assess current processes and procedures and identify opportunities for improvement
Manage transition of cash management related activities stemming from acquisitions & divestitures
Ensure standard operating procedures related to the daily cash position are periodically reviewed and updated as necessary
Manage Business Continuity Plan and lead annual test run
Provide short-term investments report to Controller’s for 10Q/10K preparation
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
MBA or BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or similar quantitative field
1-5 years’ experience within Finance/Treasury organization
Knowledge of Capital Markets with a focus on short term investments (SEC Rule 2A7) and short term debt (Commercial Paper)
Knowledge of SOX 404 regulatory requirements
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Key attributes include strong analytical & interpersonal skills, detail-oriented individual with a sharp focus on performance and delivery of results
Ability to manage and prioritize on numerous tasks, and competing business need and aptitude to maintain focus in a high-pressure environment
Pro-actively resolve issues as they arise and to work on their own while understanding limitations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation preferred but not required
U.S. cash management knowledge is a plus but not required.
Familiarity with banking platforms, FIS Quantum Treasury Workstation and SAP preferred but not required
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work during Company Holidays that are not U.S. Banking Holidays
Work Location Assignment:Hybrid schedule with on-site days determined by the manager according to business needs
