ROLE SUMMARY

The Enterprise Platforms & Security (EP&S) team delivers the following capabilities for Pfizer. Business application platforms supporting Pfizer’s enterprise application and critical business processes.  Infrastructure allowing business traffic to travel where it needs to go, internally and externally, along with the appropriate access controls.  EP&S secures Pfizer's most important information assets through world class controls and protections and enables Pfizer's business results by making security an enabler and not a roadblock to achieving business results.

The EP&S Manager, Billing Execution Lead is the primary point of contact for the execution of monthly EP&S chargeback/billings, ownership of the Financial Billing Framework, responsible for the onboarding of new billing services & accountable for the EP&S Ariba PO creation process. The position will directly oversee a colleague team to support the EP&S Billing framework from billing data ingest all the way through to general ledger reclass entries posted to the general ledger. The position will work with EP&S Finance Lead to support the EP&S Billing Framework and month-end close accounting activities. The Team lead will be point of contact to the Libra technical team to ensure operational excellence of the EP&S Libra Billing platform.

The EP&S Manager, Billing Execution Lead will be accountable to interface with customers to address billing questions.  The manager will partner with the EP&S product/service owner to ensure appropriate and transparent reporting of chargebacks to forecast.  The manager will also ensure detailed accurate billing data is available to consumers of the IT infrastructure.

This role will require strong analytical ability, coupled with knowledge of business / finance analysis tools and methodologies. The Manager, Billing Execution Lead will be expected to respond to requests in an efficient and timely manner & ensure the operational effectiveness of the EP&S Billing framework.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Enterprise Platforms & Security (EP&S) Manager, Billing Execution Lead is the primary point of contact accountable for execution of all EP&S chargeback/billing reclass’. The Billing Execution Lead is responsible for, and not limited to, conducting the following key activities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the EP&S billing service & own the monthly EP&S Billing Framework.
  • Lead the translation of business requirements into technical requirements for backlog, story points, and technical team.  Be the interface between the Libra product owner and the development team.
  • Ownership and accountability of month-end financial processing of EP&S billing reclass entries from the Libra billing platform through SAP into the General Ledger.
  • Own the LE forecast amount for EP&S chargebacks in alignment with both the service/product owners and EP&S Finance lead.
  • Accountable to remediate failed billing line items prior to month-end close reclass processing.
  • Ownership of monthly chargeback reporting including reporting to EP&S leadership as well as billing customers.
  • Identify and resolve monthly accounting variances between Libra billing and General Ledger actuals. (What should’ve been billed vs what hits the General Ledger).
  • Monthly review of chargeback consumption files from service owner against general ledger actuals – continually improving processes if remediation of errors is required.
  • Ensure that all financial Billing chargeback/reclass budget/LE targets are met and if not provide commentary to variances.
  • Responsible to partner with service owners for the onboarding process of a new billing service to be charged out through the Libra Billing platform.
  • Ownership of EP&S PO processing and vendor management actions required in Ariba.
  • Accountable to process, review and track all EP&S purchase orders for appropriate financial treatment (i.e. correct cost center, project code, G/L account code, shipping, tax treatment, estimated renewal date, etc.)
  • Work with EP&S finance team, as needed, on service tower OpEx and have a strong understanding of where, why, and how EP&S Service Tower finances are spent (General Ledger Analysis); as well as make recommendations for where financial adjustments should be made, as necessary, based on supporting financial analysis.
  • Create and maintain the necessary daily, weekly, and /or monthly periodic review items in order to maintain Libra operational excellence.
  • Draft & process Month-End Close accounting entries to support the EP&S Financial Accounting Framework.
  • Root Cause Research - Research business related variances, identify variance as manual accounting error or legitimate business movement, follow-up with GFS or market colleagues to resolve variances.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with finance/accounting or related experience
  • 5+ years of relevant financial management experience
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, time management & managerial skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience to influence change and deliver results
  • Management Reporting and Big Data Analysis experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Office capabilities, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Basic understanding of Digital terms and IT platforms
  • Competency with spreadsheets & financial modelling (comfort with data manipulation and financial systems)
  • Ability to identify business issues/opportunities and to frame business questions.
  • Knowledge of various financial systems and financial reporting aspects is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Knowledge of Pfizer Accounting practices and policies
