Summary

Do you want to innovate at the intersection of Machine Learning and Data to make Apple products smarter for our users? The Data & Machine Learning Innovation team is looking deeply into the end-to-end lifecycle of ML product development, and finding innovative ways to make it scalable and efficient. We are an R&D team with strong expertises in Applied Machine Learning, Data Engineering and Distributed Infrastructure. The team works broadly with Machine Learning teams across the company to advance capabilities in the data centric machine learning world
In this role, you will work together with similar minds in a unique development team where your skills and expertise will be put into the Apple products. This role is highly multi-functional and you will work very closely with various highly skilled machine learning and software development teams developing groundbreaking solutions.

Key Qualifications

Extensive knowledge in design and development of large scale distributed and big data processing systems.
Good practical knowledge in modern machine learning lifecycle.
Strong coding skills in mainstream programming languages.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Creativity and curiosity for solving highly complex problems.

Description

As a member of our fast-paced group you’ll have the unique and rewarding opportunity to shape upcoming products from Apple. Our team includes a diversity of background engineers focusing on making ML development lifecycle scalable and efficient. As such we are looking for candidates with both strong applied machine learning experiences and engineering skills.

This role will have the following responsibilities:

* Working with cross-functional teams to understand the challenges and opportunities of ML development, especially in the on-device ML world.
* Innovating and leading a technical roadmap for data centric machine learning.
* Solving the key technical challenges and influencing teams across the company for broad adoption.

Education & Experience

MS or Ph.D in Computer Science, Machine Learning or related field.
10+ years technical leadership experience.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $161,000 and $278,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
