Job Description
The Applied Materials Division at Argonne National Laboratory has an opening in the Faculty Research Participation Program. The candidate will collaborate on an existing Argonne project that is of interest to the faculty member. The candidate will also conduct experiments and develop structure-property relationships of advanced electrochemical materials and processes. This position requires experience in synthesis, electrochemistry, analytical chemistry, and data analysis.

Position Requirements
The prospective candidate is expected to hold a Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or a closely related field and be a faculty at a degree-granting institution
Experience with materials synthesis (solid-state and liquid-phase reactions)
Experience running electrochemical experiments and analysis, ideally experience with solid-state ion conductors
Experience working with S/TEM, SEM/EDS, XRD, BET, ICP, TGA/DSC, GC/MS, and XPS data
Experience with basic ceramic processing instrumentation (e.g., high temperature furnaces, ball milling, pressing green bodies, annealing, sintering, etc.)
Experience developing models for structure-property relationships is desired
Basic background in statistics, sufficient to correlate and describe electrochemical data
Strong skills in oral and written communications and presentations at all levels of the organization

Experience related to i) sustainable aviation fuels, ii) solid-state electrolytes, iii) electrocatalysis, and iv) a strong chemistry background.
