• Directs the work activities of AGS & PT to include the Physical Therapist, Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Speech Therapist, Student Aide, and Clinical/Clerical Assistants. Interviews, hires and trains staff; evaluates performance and provides feedback; and makes personnel action recommendations (e.g. promotions, transfers, disciplines, discharges).
• Manages assigned therapy practice rehabilitation services.
• Evaluates and treats physical therapy patients and communicates to referral sources about patient's initial condition, progress, and discharge disposition.
• Completes patient related and non-patient related documentation in a timely manner.
• Conducts inservices and staff meetings.
• Implements and manages performance and process improvement initiatives.
• Implements approved budget and financial management activities.
• Maintains and modifies, as needed, the policy and procedure manual.
• Markets services to patients, referral sources and the public.
• Purchases supplies and equipment.
• Follows system and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.
• Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements. Maintains applicable certification/licensure. Maintains required BLS.

Education:

• Bachelors degree in physical therapy. Masters degree preferred.

Certifications:

• license to practice in the State of Ohio.
• Certified athletic trainer preferred.

Complexity of Work:

• Maintains competencies specific to patient population served.
• Membership in National and State physical therapy and athletic training Associations.

Work Experience:

• Three years experience as staff physical therapist in orthopedic/sports physical therapy.
