Job Description
Summary
The research lab is looking for a highly motivated individual at the level of research technician II to join NIH-funded research program focused on musculoskeletal and stem cell biology. The position provides an exciting opportunity to work at the interface of basic and translational research in a collaborative and stimulating environment. The technician would have BA with research experience in the biology field.Experience in tissue histology, molecular biology, and laboratory mouse work will be desirable. The technician will have a shared responsibility for lab maintenance, data analysis, tissue processing and staining, animal maintenance and imaging studies under the direction of the supervisor. The position is most appropriate (but not limited to) for a recent graduate seeking an intensive research experience prior to graduate school or medical school.
Job Duties
- Assists procurement and maintenance of laboratory supplies and reagents.
- Documents, compiles, and analyzes information obtained from laboratory experiments.
- Maintains basic mouse lines and performs genotyping.
- Assists basic laboratory works that includes FACS, tissue sectioning and staining, and microscope imaging.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- B.S. degree in a biological and/or biomedical science, or related experience.
- Experience in tissue histology, molecular biology, and laboratory mouse work is desirable.
- Has excellent organizational skills and demonstrate the ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Be interested in stem cell biology and willing to learn in vitro and in vivo stem cell assays.
