Job Duties

  • Enrolling and interviewing patients. 
  • Collecting research data
  • Maintaining records for clinical studies
  • Entering study data into a computerized database
  • Reviewing and organizing prospectively-collected clinical data and medical record/health information
  • Abstracting clinical data into electronic database
  • Performing advanced statistical analyses for epidemiological studies.

Summary

The Epidemiology Program is the largest program devoted to pediatric cancer epidemiology in the US. The Program currently has several funded research projects focused on pediatric cancer etiology and survivorship. This position provides much-needed support to several of these projects through the following activities. Coordinating day-to-day activities of research protocols for the Epidemiology Program and supporting all related research efforts. Daily activities include accurate data collection, documentation, organization, and analysis of study-related data. This individual should have excellent communication skills as the individual will coordinate analyses with team members and external collaborators. The Research Coordinator III will also be responsible for maintaining analytic datasets, providing updates, and preparing reports.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • Experience with computer spreadsheets and database management
  • Experience with statistical analysis and related software, e.g., R, SAS, Stata.
