ROLE SUMMARY

As a key member of the IMAx IDM Access Implementation team, the Director, IDM Access Implementation, Specialty Care, is responsible for the implementation of global access strategies in Anchor, Agile and Efficient markets within IDM for innovative, launch assets.

The Director partners closely with the Global Value & Access Teams (VATs) and Country Health & Value and other local and regional cross-functional partners to accelerate launch timelines to bring Pfizer medicines to patients that need them.

The Director is knowledgeable in Anchor, Agile and Efficient market pricing, reimbursement, tendering and access conditions, and will work closely with countries to develop and implement market access strategies, including local pricing strategies, negotiation plans and other launch preparation.

The position is located virtually within the IDM region.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director, IDM Access Implementation, Specialty Care will:

  • Be responsible for the delivery of the global access strategy in the IDM region (Anchor, Agile and Efficient markets) for specialty care launch assets, and for the prioritization of launch and country opportunities to ensure maximum impact of time and resources.
  • Be a close collaborator and partner to the Global Specialty Care Business Value and Access Teams; providing country insights on HTA, pricing and other environmental insights, and providing learnings from implementation process for integration into global strategy.
  • Partner with Country Health and Value on local access and pricing strategy, negotiations planning, payer engagement and HTA-submission preparation, value-based propositions, patient assistance programs, specialty care-specific environment shaping, and other asset-specific activities.
  • Identify new and innovative ways to accelerate access and reduce time to listing across Anchor, Agile and Efficient markets.
  • Identify new opportunities for value creation based on an understanding of payer landscapes and challenges and develop and execute innovative approaches to meet payer needs with regional and local cross-functional partners.
  • Develop and use metrics to assess efforts and demonstrate impact against time, breadth of access, and pricing; and adjust or pivot efforts and plans based on metric outcomes.
  • Maintain expertise in country payer environments (especially as it pertains to specialty products) in order to identify specific risks and opportunities; and obtain an acute understanding of the Global Integrated Value and Access Strategy, the Global Pricing Access Strategy, the Global Value Story and the Global Value Dossier.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • Extensive experience in healthcare environment, preferably pharmaceutical industry or related consulting services, sufficient to have developed a deep understanding of the payer and market access environment.
  • Access and pricing experience and leadership at regional or local level required
  • Expert on HTA methodologies and processes, and other reimbursement pathways and mechanisms.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing innovative access solutions to overcome payer hurdles and / or support payer interest and challenges.
  • Strong communicator and collaborator. Experience successfully collaborating with cross-functional teams at global, regional and/or local level.
  • Holds an “implementation mindset” focused on getting things done quickly and simply.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and complexity.
  • Self-driven with strong analytical and strategic skills including ability to identify and prioritize challenges and balance short needs against longer term vision.
  • Ability to pivot and act quickly and nimbly across priorities in response to changing external environments and internal needs.
  • Be a team player, impact-driven and focused on Pfizer values.
  • Ability to work successfully and cooperatively with colleagues across multiple cultures and time-zones.
  • Demonstrate an absolute commitment to adherence of all applicable compliance rules and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Rare Disease, I&I, Hospital experience a plus.
