Job Description

Postdoctoral Research Fellow Position in Single Cell Genetics and Cancer Biology A postdoctoral training position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Siyuan Zhang, in the Department of Pathology at UT Southwestern Medical Center to study cancer cell signaling, metastasis, tumor microenvironment, and tumor immunology using cutting-edge functional genomics and single cell omics approaches.

The overarching research focus of the S. Zhang Lab is to investigate the cancer-driving mechanisms that reside in the dynamic and evolutionary nature of the primary tumor microenvironment and metastatic niche. Our lab seeks to delineate patterns of metastatic plasticity and identify targetable mechanisms for novel cancer therapeutics. The prospective candidate will have ample freedom to collaboratively develop research projects with Dr. Zhang under the above overarching theme. The postdoctoral training will involve utilizing single cell genomics and functional genomics approaches - coupled with cellular, organotypic, and mouse models of cancer - to reveal novel molecular mechanisms that drive tumor progression, drug resistance, and metastatic relapse.

Candidates must hold a recent Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree. Experience in cell biology, cancer biology, genetics, immunology, or a similar field. Experience in mouse models, spectral flow cytometry, specialized sequencing (CITE-, TCR-, ATAC-single cell), multi-omics approaches, and/or bioinformatics (Python, R) will be favorably reviewed. The postdoctoral position appointment length and compensation are subject to candidate experience, based on current NRSA Stipend Levels with full UT benefits. Information on our postdoctoral training program, benefits, and a virtual tour can be found at http://www.utsouthwestern.edu/postdocs.
