Job Description
Summary
Pediatric Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine department of Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Research Associate to join our team. This position performs complex research of an advanced nature under the general direction of the Principal Investigator. Typically requires a high-level of skills and expertise in the area of research specialty.
Job Duties
- Abstract and enter data.
- Build and maintain databases (via REDCap).
- Write and maintain standard operating procedures for study protocols.
- Ensure accurate data collection, documentation, organization and safety of research participants.
- May screen all new outpatients and inpatients for study enrollment.
- Enroll patient and control subjects.
- Obtain informed consent for appropriate studies.
- Scan, import, and file research consent forms into department files.
- Notify other research staff of patient enrollment, as needed.
- Ensure regulatory compliance for study protocols and informed consent process.
- Capture and enter subject data throughout enrollment, including during follow-up phase.
- Draft and review data for entry into annual meetings and conferences.
- Create, edit and print posters and media for annual meetings and conferences.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Basic Science or a related field. Experience in lieu of degree will not be accepted.
- Three years of relevant experience typically as a Research Assistant, Research Technician or Postdoctoral Fellow/Associate.
Preferred Qualifications
- A background in clinical trial coordination or clinical experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Familiarity with a variety of the research fields concepts, practices and procedures
- Demonstrated experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
