What You Will Achieve

You will provide cleaning validations support for multiple processing areas within
API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients).  You will be responsible for providing procedures and direction to the shop floor in order to ensure that equipment is properly cleaning and released after each campaign. You will possess strong knowledge of API equipment/technologies, API operations, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), standard work and focus on continuous improvement as well as strong organizational, communication, and people skills.

As part of the Technical Operations team, you are recognized as a subject matter expert and serve as on-going technical resource to the operating units, overseeing that cleaning is completed within EHS and/or GMP requirements, working to maximize production efficiency where possible. You will be entrusted with adapting standard methods and procedures by applying your knowledge, prior work experience and requirements. Your business awareness of cross-organizational impact on project delivery will elevate the quality of project deliverables. You will arrive at decisions on which methods and procedures are the best fit for different work situations. You will train others and reinforce behaviors that will help us achieve our goal of providing the best healthcare to our patients.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Manage own time, professional development and be accountable for own results.
  • Prioritize own workflow and allocate work to others and assist in establishing their priorities.
  • Responsible for providing input for performance assessment on team members.
  • Maintain Pfizer standards and values for quality, safety and environmental objectives as well as meeting production goals.
  • Lead operators in assuring that all the duties required in their areas are appropriately conducted with or without supervision.
  • Help Project Managers with both in-house and contract maintenance on process equipment.
  • Learn activities and tasks associated with own role, and contribute to creative conversations {e.g., brainstorming and innovation).
  • Consistently communicates work sequence status to supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Follow procedures at all times, adopting current Good Manufacturing Practices {part of GxP} practices.
  • Interact with API and unit leadership, shop floor operators, subject matter experts across production units as well as API Specialist peers, Quality, Environment, Health & Safety colleagues and external regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain and prepare API Laboratory Equipment/supplies and consumables for production use, aligning with API unit production schedules.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6+ years of Chemical Operating experience
  • Certification in assigned area, if applicable
  • Demonstrated experience in API and completion of operator training program.
  • Acquired API operations/IPL experience.
  • Functional/Technical Knowledge of the discipline
  • Effective written and oral communication
  • Computer skills, such as Microsoft Applications and experience with System Application and Products

Nice-to-Have

  • Previous fermentation experience

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Work Environment: Considerable outside environment. Frequent exposure to airborne particles; hot/cold conditions. Must work near moving mechanical parts.  The noise level in the work environment is loud.  Use of hearing, hand, head, feet and eye protection is required.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Night Shift Weekend & holiday work required. This will be an alternate work schedule with 12-hour shifts. (7PM-7:30AM)
