About the Position

The Academic Technology Specialist provides academic software application and programming support to Ross faculty, staff, departments, centers, and units. You will be part of a team that administers Qualtrics and Explorance tools at Ross and leverages other academic technology tools. This position reports to the Ross Research Manager. The mission of the academic and research support team is to provide streamlined software support and custom-designed solutions using academic applications to ensure that Ross faculty and students have an optimal learning experience, enhance Ross researcher's productivity, and optimize academic and administrative processes for departments, centers, and units.

You will learn how Ross uses assessments, surveys, and applications to improve student, faculty, and administration experience with tools such as Qualtrics, Explorance, Google Forms, and other academic applications. You will expand your skills with web development, coding, and software that support academic technology. You will develop a portfolio of projects that showcase creativity and professional programming skills.

Responsibilities*

Technical Application Support:

Configure and troubleshoot software according to client needs, including data collection projects for research, teaching, and office/program administration (Qualtrics, Explorance, Google Forms, etc.)
Design and implement 360, self, and peer assessments, configure reports and data exports
Modify and maintain existing assessment, research, and teaching projects
Programming/Coding:

Develop, debug, and maintain custom scripts for web-based applications, automated data processing, report creation, web-based visualizations and charts, data restructuring (HTML/CSS/JavaScript/JQuery/Python)
Deploy complex Qualtrics programming, including integration and transfer of data between software platforms
Software Platform Administration:

Administer Ross instances of Qualtrics and Explorance tools
Troubleshoot and provide technical support for academic technology projects
Develop and deliver training materials and documentation
Required Qualifications*

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
1 or more years of web development (HTML/JS/CSS)/Python programming experience.
1 or more years of demonstrated end-user technical support or related work experience.
1 or more years survey programming experience
Salary Information: The general salary range for this position is $64,500 - $71,500. Candidates can expect to be paid a competitive and equitable salary. Factors used to determine salary include experience, knowledge and skills for the position.
