We're looking for a new colleague to join us in shaping the software development story for Apple Watch. As a SwiftUI Frameworks Engineer on the Watch Frameworks team you will be responsible for designing developer-facing features and implementing the programming interfaces used to create cutting-edge applications for watchOS. You’ll collaborate with passionate and creative colleagues to meet ambitious goals in an environment that requires constant curiosity and growth. Key Qualifications
- Proficiency with Swift (or the capacity to become proficient quickly)
- Ability to work collaboratively and explain complex ideas clearly
- Upbeat, adaptable, and results-oriented attitude
- Experience with at least one of the following:
- Native or web app development
- Framework and API development
- Graphics and animation systems
Description
As a member of the Watch Frameworks team, you will implement new features and craft elegant APIs that delight developers and users alike. You will be responsible for bringing your ideas to life through all stages of development, from initial research, to API design and proposals, to testing and development in Swift, to documentation and offering guidance to adopters. You’ll be working with other core SwiftUI framework engineers to unlock creative possibilities for developers while preserving a consistent and reliable end-user experience across all of Apple’s platforms. You’ll join us in energetic discussions of each other’s work and ideas and be a champion and resource for the unique needs of Apple Watch and watchOS.

Education & Experience
You will need solid computer science fundamentals—including data structures & algorithms, object-oriented design, and concurrency—to be successful in this role, but a specific degree or concentration is not required.

- Experience with any of the following is a plus, but not required:
- SwiftUI and Swift Standard Library design patterns
- Cocoa and Objective-C
- Other declarative UI frameworks
- Programming language design and implementation
- UI/UX design
- Technical writing
