Position Description
The Huh laboratory at Harvard Medical School seeks a highly motivated individual to support research in immunology and neurobiology. The Research Assistant will belong to teams identifying immune cell function in the context of diverse neurological disorder (e.g. Alzheimer’s Disease and Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and Lyme disease. The assistant will have an important part in managing the lab’s general operations and will work closely with the laboratory manager and several senior researchers in the laboratory. This includes immunologic techniques (immune cell isolation and culture, assays of immune cell function, cytokine ELISA assays), molecular biology procedures (PCR, RNA ,and/or DNA preparation from tissues), mouse behavior assay (such as Morris water maze, novel object recognition test, novelty Y maze, fear conditioning test), rotarod, grip strength test, and wire hanging test).) and bacterial cultures. Additionally, they will assist with animal colony management (setting up breeders, weaning pups, and genotyping progeny). They will analyze and summarize data, organize it into lab notebooks, and report experimental results bi-weekly. This individual may independently troubleshoot and optimize techniques.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 1-year laboratory research experience.
Additional Qualifications and Skills
Strong analytical abilities and good team working skills are preferred.
Additional Information
This is a one-year term position from the date of hire, with the possibility of extension, contingent upon work performance and continued funding to support the position. 

This is an in-person position based on our campus in Boston.
