Job Summary
Provide entry level administrative and technical support of enterprise network with a focus on layer’s 1 and 2 in the campus network environment with a focus on EVPN. Routing in cloud environments such as Azure and AWS (Amazon Web Services). The candidate will also embrace the organizations Principles of Community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities with areas within the network telecommunications function with a focus of layer 1 & 2 cabling and vlans.
Assist in the development, implementation, monitoring and support of enterprise level network distribution equipment including Network Address Control and IT Security posturing.
Provide support in network projects and requirements.
Support network equipment to ensure proper operation including upgrades and installations.
Help to develop and update network policies and procedures.
Report, record, and work with departments to resolve network related issues and incidents.
Other functions as assigned

Required Qualifications
Associates degree in information technology, computer science, or applicable field or one (1) year of recent full-time experience managing enterprise-class networks or certification related to job duties and responsibilities specified (examples: Network+, JNCIA, JNCIA-Mist AI, JNCIA-Cloud, JNCIA-DevOps)

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
JNCIA-Junos certification.
Advanced degree in information technology or related field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of datacenter and software-defined networking solutions
Knowledge of enterprise networking
Knowledge of tools to monitor and gather data for providing metrics related to network performance and efficiency
Ability to work within a hybrid development, engineering, and support team
Ability to collaborate with team members, staff, and customers
Ability to provide excellent customer service
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form to a variety of constituents at varying levels of authority within the organization
Ability to understand higher education processes and convey value and needs in the language of the business
Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment
Ability to perform network maintenance and address potential issues in a self-motivated manner with keen attention to detail
Working Conditions

May work in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
May work around electrical and mechanical hazards.
May work in enclosed or tight spaces.
Use of standard office equipment, personal computer, and Microsoft Office.
Work in and around standard office conditions.
