Job Description

Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute is proud to be Florida’s only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center located in Tampa. We are seeking an outstanding investigator in the cancer biology field who has exceptional vision and who will serve as a dedicated mentor and leader as Chair of the Department of Tumor Biology. The expertise of the Applicant should be evident in top-tier publications, an established stature in the cancer biology field, extramural funding and a creative profile of innovative research programs that ideally would complement ongoing high-profile research currently conducted by department members.

 

The Department of Tumor Biology has broad interests that span all stages of the oncogenic process from transformation to distant metastasis through to biomarker development. Research in the department investigates genetic drivers and signaling networks that pertain to cancer, environmental stresses that contribute to tumor initiation, novel post-translational modifications that drive immune escape and the metastatic process, the role of organ-specific microenvironments in tumor progression and metastasis (including the brain and bone) and epigenetic regulation of tumor plasticity and immune escape.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D., qualify for faculty appointment as Senior Member/Full Professor and possess demonstrated leadership and administrative skills. The Moffitt Cancer Center is affiliated with the University of South Florida and university appointments are also available, as deemed appropriate.
