Job Description
Summary
Wangler Lab is seeking motivated energetic candidates to join as a research coordinator for new innovative cliinical research studies on rare diseases. The Wangler lab studies a number of genetic disorders and the coordinator will be integral to a number of rare disease research protocols. Interaction with families, coordination and organization of research activities, participation in study phone calls and protocol development.
Job Duties
- Identify and establish new contacts as recruitment resources in the community
- Develop and/or implement creative and existing processes to increase the existing recruitment base
- Advertise for research participants through development and distribution of flyers, pamphlets, social media, etc.
- Attend community and health events to identify potential study participants and invite them to participate in research projects
- Make presentations at places of business to aid recruiting efforts
- Conduct phone pre-screenings of potential participants interested in clinical research studies
- Schedule participants for enrollment and follow up visits
- Keep study schedules current
- Update study personnel with recruitment and schedule status
- Maintain and update a recruitment portfolio and database
- Any other responsibilities identified by the Clinic Manager
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to understand basic medical terminology and eligibility requirements for clinical research studies and protocols
- Experience with computer spreadsheets and database management
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Must provide own transportation for travel in the community with mileage reimbursement.
- Experience in a clinical research setting and/or public relations-related experience is preferred
- Marketing/networking skills helpful
- College degree is preferred
- Bilingual-English/Spanish is helpful
