Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice President-Philanthropy Strategy & Campaign Management, the Associate Vice President-Campaign Management will play a leading role in the development, management and execution of enterprise-wide campaigns and strategic initiatives.

In partnership with the VP-Philanthropy Strategy & Campaign Management, the Associate Vice President will work to optimize synergies across programs and functions throughout the Office of Philanthropy (OOP) and City of Hope enterprise to enable the successful design and execution of a portfolio of multi-year enterprise campaign or signature/strategic initiatives which may include, in the near term, a comprehensive, multi-billion-dollar effort.

The Associate Vice President will provide ongoing counsel and partnership to the VP-Philanthropy Strategy & Campaign Management, the Campaign Architect, Office of Philanthropy (OOP) leadership, and enterprise leadership regarding the overall design and execution of campaigns and strategic initiatives, and will be the primary driver developing and overseeing implementation of campaign and initiative operating plans.

To support office-wide alignment, the Associate Vice President will coordinate with the AVP-Strategic and Operational Management to ensure alignment between multi-year campaign planning, annual OOP workplans, and OOP operations and processes.

The Associate Vice President, in partnership with the Senior Campaign Directors and colleagues across OOP, will lead the collaborative work of cross-functional teams focused on each strategic initiative – driving the establishment of campaign and initiative plan goals, milestones and deliverables, and ensuring that teams and the OOP are on track to accomplish campaign objectives. With attention to campaign design, gift officer deployment, enterprise alignment, communications and donor experience strategies, the Associate Vice President also will drive development and implementation of campaign policies and procedures, staff training plans, gift tracking and reporting systems, campaign volunteer plans, campaign presentations, campaign event planning and campaign communications.

The Associate Vice President will be an experienced leader and strong operations manager with working knowledge of the integral relationship between enterprise strategic vision, the philanthropic growth/strategic plan, campaign design and strategy, constituent engagement, communications, donor experience, finance, IT, philanthropy operations, and fundraising programs from annual giving to transformative gifts. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented project manager, a strategic thinker and a strong communicator, as well as a natural relationship builder with the confidence to network and negotiate effectively at all levels within and outside the Office of Philanthropy.

The Associate Vice President will support and model commitment to disciplined processes and an office-wide focus on collaboration, efficiencies and metrics-based outcomes. By providing strong individual contribution and high-level strategic partnership, the Associate Vice President will be a part of creating our evolution into a perpetually campaign-ready, donor-centered, leading industry program to support City of Hope’s mission.
