Our laboratory aims to understand, at the molecular level, how dysregulated complement activation during pregnancy contributes to 1) maternal complications associated with preeclampsia and 2) short- and long-term health and disease of fetus/offspring. We will employ in vitro, cell culture, and rodent animal models to understand the complex interplay between complement activation and maternal/fetal molecular physiology.
