Job Description
Summary
The Dr. Loning Fu's laboratory in the Section of Gastroenterology & Hepatology in the Department of Medicine is looking to temporarily hire a lab helper to support our research mission. Seeking a motivated 3rd or 4th year undergraduate student, who is genuinely interested in biomedical research and has a long-term career goal in research or medicine, to join an active research team as a part-time student intern to study the role of circadian disruption in obesity, metabolic syndrome, and liver cancer.
Job Duties
- Helps bench and animal studies in the lab to accelerate research on the mechanism of obesity related liver cancer.
- Conducts PCR genotyping.
- Works on animal colony maintenance.
- Conducts mouse metabolic and cancer phenotype studies.
- Works on animal data documentation
- Cleans and maintains organized lab and instruments
- Washes, dries and sterilizes lab glassware
- Works on research project discussion, planning, data recording, and presentation.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently an undergraduate degree student or has degree.
- Organized, prompt, self-motivated, teamwork, works well under pressure, multitasking.
