About the School of Information Technology
The School of Information Technology currently confers an undergraduate degree in Information Technology (BSIT) and Cybersecurity (BSCyber); a Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT), which covers the areas of Networking/Systems, Software Application Development, Cybersecurity, Game Development & Simulation, and Database Management; and a PhD in Information Technology. Furthermore, the School confers a minor in Information Technology and several certificates. There are over 1500 students in the School, 24 full-time faculty members and 19 staff members. The BSIT degree is a five-year co-op degree and is one of the first 10 in the nation to receive ABET accreditation. The MSIT is ranked 9th in the nation by US News & World Report for Best Online Master’s program in the Computer Information Technology category.

Job Overview
The School of Information Technology at the University of Cincinnati seeks to hire an Associate Director of Technology and Cyber Exercises for the Ohio Cyber Range Institute (OCRI). We are looking for a mission driven, team oriented, highly ambitious individual who wants to serve, make a difference, and strive to perform at competitive levels of excellence.

The principal workload assignment of this position will be to innovate and collaborate on the creation and implementation of Cyber Exercises and activities that utilize the technology of the Ohio Cyber Range. In addition, the Associate Director of Technology and Cyber Exercises will collaborate with the technology team to position the OCR technology to support use cases for education, workforce, and economic development.

The Ohio Cyber Range Institute (OCRI), housed at the University of Cincinnati on behalf of the state of Ohio, provides administration of the Ohio Cyber Range (OCR) in advancement of the OCR’s mission as a cyber security education, workforce, and economic development platform. OCRI leads and supports more than sixteen regional programming centers around the state. The OCR is a state-wide technology resource that supports programming for K-20 courses and events; full-spectrum training opportunities, including incident response teams; industry workforce and economic development; cyber security research; as well as government agency support among other programs. The position is housed in the School of Information Technology (SoIT) and integrates with its mission and planning. The position works within the OCRI governing structure and reports to the OCRI Executive Staff Director and the unit head.

Under general supervision from the OCRI Executive Staff Director, the OCRI Associate Director of Technology and Cyber Exercises will serve as the expert for the technical infrastructure and integration of cybersecurity programming for the Ohio Cyber Range Institute overseeing the Core Service Sites’ strategy, evaluation, and alignment. In addition, the position will develop and manage cyber exercises to the OCRI community as defined in the project statement of work as well as other duties as assigned. The position will support the different functions of the OCRI including academic, communication, reporting, and other strategies as developed by the executive staff team.

Essential Functions
Assist with the direction of an IT office or center with primary responsibilities for day to day operations and administrative management in which decisions and quality of execution have significant impact on internal and external relations.
Develop long-range plans and strategies to achieve unit, department and university goals for areas of responsibility, monitors and achievers established goals. Assist with program recommendation and communication.
Recommend, implement, and interpret internal rules, policies, procedures, controls, and manage processes to advance service levels; develop and implement responsive service programs.
Attend meetings on behalf of the director; consults with director on major policy changes affecting other departments; authority to grant exceptions; may function as the Director in his/her absence, as required.
Develop, implement and monitor assigned budgets; authority for function budget, revenue, and expense planning and approving expenditure; delegated signature authority for programs or functions within department or center.
Assist with administrative leadership and supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff; hire, orient, train, mentor and evaluate assigned staff; monitor and coordinate staff development and training programs.
Compile data required for internal and external reports and assessments; interpret and disseminate information, provide advice, assist in development of materials, deliver presentations, ensure that all programs and services comply with university, state and federal regulations.
Maintain collaborative relationships with departments/units; serve as liaison to the IT office. Maintain and stay abreast of trends in IT. Serve on various university, division and departmental committees, represent the department at various state and national associations.
Minimum Requirements
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or relevant degree with four (4) years of experience; or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, with six (6) years of experience; or Associate's degree with eight (8) years of experience, or a combination of relevant education and ten (10) years of advanced level experience.
Experience must include at least three (3) years of supervisory experience.
Possesses broad and deep knowledge of own area and related areas and contributes thorough advanced knowledge, skill and expertise.
Additional Qualifications Considered

Experience working within academic or government setting.
Experience working with Cyber Exercises and events that utilizes Cyber Ranges.
Experience working with multiple institutions in a single project.
Leadership experience.
