Job Description

Job Summary
The College of Health Web Content Specialist will be the point person for updates to the College of Health website, using a content management system. The Specialist will develop and implement content for web pages, working independently or with the departmental webmasters. The Specialist may be charged with writing and editing content for pages, following SEO best practices. Working closely with the Health Sciences Webmaster and the Communications Specialist, the Content Specialist will assist with the development of best practices and strategy for the website. Experience working with clients or in customer service and a high skill level in collaboration is preferred for this position.
Responsibilities
· Edit and update website content as requested, including creation of new pages when applicable.
· Serve as the point person for the College for any website questions.
· Assist with developing best practices and strategy for the College’s website, using knowledge of analytics and SEO.
· Migrate webpages into the content management system as directed.
· Create written content for new web pages as directed.
· Assist with training new webmasters on the content management system.
· Lead occasional website best practices meetings in person or remotely as directed.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalency with 2-4 years of experience.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Preferences
· Experience with content management systems, such as WordPress.
· Familiarity with Google Analytics and best practices around basic reporting and data management.
· Knowledge of writing for SEO basics.
· Basic knowledge of HTML.
· Experience with Adobe products, such as Photoshop (image editing).
· Customer service or IT experience, responsive and skilled in collaboration and troubleshooting.
· Basic knowledge of remote work tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and project management systems.
· Familiarity with social media, specifically YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
· Experience working in an academic or health care setting is a bonus, but not required.
