Job Description

Position Highlights:

In conjunction with Public Relations & Strategic Communications leadership team, the Lead Social Media Coordinator handles overall strategy for and assignment of social media programs and tasks to his/her direct reports. In addition, s/he is instrumental in developing and executing strategies specific to the CEO's social media channels, including Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. S/He works to align all social media strategies with Moffitt's strategic plan.

S/he also handles community management and resolution of customer service inquires, issues and feedback, ensuring timely hand-offs and a positive customer experience. S/he manages the strategy and execution of paid social media for the Public Relations & Strategic Communications team on main, CEO and Miles for Moffitt accounts. Conducts regular research to stay up to date on the latest social media practices and creates benchmarks and plans to evaluate and grow the organization’s presence and refine strategy.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Working experience with Photoshop/Illustrator.
  • Video production experience a plus.
  • Relevant experience in a non-profit, healthcare or research institution or agency.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing social media management tools, including native platforms and Sprout social.
  • Demonstrated understanding of news judgment and content value as it relates to healthcare and specifically, oncology.
  • Demonstrated understanding of HTML, JavaScript, blogging and creative design tools.
  • Superior writing skills and thorough command of AP style. Must be able to craft, repurpose and edit copy to produce engaging content.
  • Exceptional communication, time management, multi-tasking and planning skills.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, Google+, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.
  • Working knowledge of graphic design principles and techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops strategies for all Moffitt social media platforms and directly oversees team members.
  • Working with Public Relations & Strategic Communications leadership team and the CEO office, develops and executes strategies for all CEO social media channels.
  • Develops and executes program to engage senior leadership in Moffitt social media endeavors.
  • Develops response strategy for all posts and comments that could damage the Moffitt brand or its team members.
  • Implements training program for Moffitt team members engaged in social media on behalf of the organization.
  • Launches social media monitoring.
  • Other Job Duties as assigned.

Credentials and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Social Media, Public Relations, Journalism, Corporate Communications or related field required.
  • Minimum eight (8) years verifiable experience in a professional environment: developing and executing social media strategies to include a minimum of four (4) years experience conducting social media outreach and using digital performance and analytical tools.
