The Operations Manager (OM) will coordinate and oversee execution, analysis, and reporting of research operations at the Center for Geotechnical Modeling (CGM), a nationally funded shared-use experimental research facility. The OM will work with UC Davis and non-UC Davis faculty investigators to develop experiment execution plans and will coordinate the planning and execution of on-site activities for multiple independent research teams and CGM staff. The OM will track operations and research activities, analyze center performance data, and prepare sponsor reports. The OM will identify research workflow challenges and opportunities, make recommendations, and will help plan and execute facility upgrades. The OM will develop and coordinate training and standard operating protocol documentation to ensure safe and efficient research operations. The OM will execute CGM business operations such as staff and equipment resource allocation, budget analysis and projections, use rate derivation and justification. The OM will serve in a leadership role to develop and administer operational priorities for the CGM, including identifying new research opportunities and recruiting and enabling new users by supporting proposal development through coordinating those users during on-site project execution. The OM will work under the supervision of the CGM Associate Director (AD) and will supervise the Administrative Analyst (AA). The AD and OM will serve as the operational leadership of the CGM under general oversight of the CGM Director. In general, the OM will coordinate research activities while the AD will oversee technical aspects of research.
