Any concerns about the ability to meet this requirement should be directed to HR Solutions at (505) 284-4700. : Organization 05253, Advanced CMOS Products/Design, is seeking a MEMS ROIC Design Postdoctoral Appointee to join their team utilizing advanced CAD tools and CMOS semiconductor technologies to support Sandia’s advanced MEMS sensor technologies and Heterogeneous Integration of microelectronics for national security applications. On any given day, one may be called upon to: + Execute research and development projects for Readout Integrated Circuit (ROIC) design, test, and characterization of hybrid MEMS/ROIC systems such as accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers, etc. + Perform advanced microelectronics integration activities, such as the development of microelectronics fabrication solutions for hybrid MEMS/ROIC + Advance Sandia’s proficiency in read out architectures for MEMS based sensors for national security applications + Interact closely with internal and external specialists on MEMS/ROIC sensor design, fabrication, integration, and testing + Utilize Sandia’s internal facilities, including the MESA fabs, and identify external resources that can be used for R&D and production based microsystems + Identify, procure, and commission new fabrication, characterization, and test equipment + Attend and present work at professional domestic and international conferences, as well as publish peer reviewed journal articles

+ A Bachelor's degree in a STEM field plus a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related STEM field, with the PhD conferred within the last 5 years + Experience with analog and/or digital ROIC design and characterization for MEMS applications + Interest or experience in MEMS design and characterization + The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance

+ Academic or professional experience in MEMS or other relevant microelectronics fields such as RF Microsystems, Silicon Photonics, or Compound Semiconductors + The ability to conceive and propose ideas for process improvement, troubleshooting, and new capability development + Interest in leading development efforts including cost, schedule, and device realization + Proven interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate, explain, and educate others + Strong interpersonal skills and an eagerness to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team environment + An active DOE Q-level security clearance; or other equivalent active security clearance such as DOD Top Secret

Department Description:

The Advanced CMOS Products and Design department develops and maintains digital, analog, and mixed-signal design expertise. We have a deep understanding of technology offerings and design methodologies to provide custom microelectronic products and engineering services that fulfill the diverse needs of our customers (Nuclear Deterrence {ND} and Strategic Partnership Programs {SPP}). Customers include DOE weapons systems, satellite systems, the intelligence community, armed services, other government agencies, the Sandia research community, and commercial industry. We provide Trusted ASIC Design Services for both radiation-hardened and non-radiation-hardened Trusted Foundries (350nm, 180nm, 130nm, 90nm, 65nm, 45nm, 32nm and 14nm). In addition to IC product development, the department works closely with our in-house radiation hardened CMOS technology group to maintain state-of-the-art radiation-hardened CMOS research, design, and production capability.

Security Clearance:
