Job Description
Summary
A full-time or part-time Research Technician I position is available in the laboratory of Hui Zheng in the Huffington Center on Aging at Baylor College of Medicine. The successful applicant will join a highly dynamic research group with excellent track-record and rich resources in Alzheimer’s disease research.
Job Duties
- Collects, compiles and analyzes data.
- Documents results of experiments.
- Orders laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Records study-related data and communicates results to stakeholders.
- Manages the animal colony.
- Cleans laboratory equipment such as glassware, metal instruments, sinks, and tables.
- Prepares simple stains, solutions, and culture media following established formulas and procedures.
- Assists in conducting research experiments.
- Orders laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Assists in collecting data and maintaining records.
- Enters data into research database.
- Operates laboratory equipment.
- Assists in preparing biological specimens for analysis.
- Harvests cell cultures and maintain cultures.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- The candidate should have a B.S. or is pursuing a B.S. degree.
- Previous research experience in animal handling.
