Summary

A full-time or part-time Research Technician I position is available in the laboratory of Hui Zheng in the Huffington Center on Aging at Baylor College of Medicine. The successful applicant will join a highly dynamic research group with excellent track-record and rich resources in Alzheimer’s disease research.

Job Duties

  • Collects, compiles and analyzes data.
  • Documents results of experiments.
  • Orders laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Records study-related data and communicates results to stakeholders.
  • Manages the animal colony.
  • Cleans laboratory equipment such as glassware, metal instruments, sinks, and tables.
  • Prepares simple stains, solutions, and culture media following established formulas and procedures.
  • Assists in conducting research experiments.
  • Orders laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Assists in collecting data and maintaining records.
  • Enters data into research database.
  • Operates laboratory equipment.
  • Assists in preparing biological specimens for analysis.
  • Harvests cell cultures and maintain cultures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • The candidate should have a B.S. or is pursuing a B.S. degree.
  • Previous research experience in animal handling.
