Job Description

Summary

We are seeking a talented individual to work with our team on a project assessing the metabolomic changes in pancreatic cancer and the metabolic consequences of dietary supplementation. The candidate must have excellent computer, written and oral communication skills and have knowledge of metabolomic data and statistical methodologies. The individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following: conduct cell culture studies under the direction of the supervisor, assist with the organization of animal housing and research areas, document experimental results, literature research, and deliver lab meeting presentations. 

Job Duties

  • Assists in carrying out experimental procedures on mouse test cohorts.
  • Performs animal husbandry assignments such as mating, weaning, and colony maintenance
  • Prepares solutions and reagents for project execution.
  • Performs technical laboratory procedures.
  • Autoclaves surgical instruments.
  • Collects and analyzes data and maintains records, assists with preparing laboratory reports and progress reports.
  • Summarizes literature search information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
  • Keeps an organized research notebook and confirms results.
  • Presents ongoing work in lab meetings: able to present data acquired from experimental results and to describe project work.
  • Cleans equipment such as surgical equipment and cleans the surgical area.

Minimum Qualifications: B.S. degree in a biological and/or biomedical science, or related experience. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: Competitive candidates must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, express a willingness to learn new techniques, display initiative and the ability to work independently and as an integral part of the organizational team.
