Job Description

Summary

The Research Assistant will have experience in cell, molecular, and animal experimentation, and support multiple investigators with their respective lab research. As part of a vibrant research team, the Research Assistant will have the opportunity to learn and train in advanced cellular and molecular laboratory techniques.

Job Duties

  • Designs and conducts research experiments.
  • Collects, compiles, and analyzes data.
  • Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
  • Documents and interperets results of experiments, and reports to principal investigators.
  • Develops and modifies computer programs.
  • Selects and determines appropriate research procedures.
  • Oversees the maintenance of lab equipment and environment.
  • Assigns activities to less experienced research staff.
  • Collaborates with other research assistants to support multiple investigators with their respective laboratory research.
  • Conducts research experiments with expertise in molecular and cellular biology.
  • Handles maintenance of mice colony, breeding, genotyping, and tissue harvesting.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field.
