Job Description

Summary

This is a position available in the Baylor College of Medicine Knockout Mouse Phenotyping Program Production and Phenotyping group. This role supports the overall project goal of high-throughput evaluation of mouse models of human diseases. A successful candidate will perform various experimental mouse procedures and complete data entry into a research database.

Job Duties

  • Carries out various experimental procedures on mouse test cohorts.
  • Performs routine laboratory technical procedures.
  • Enters colony and phenotyping data to a custom research database.
  • Assists in the preparation of laboratory reports.
  • Maintains equipment and work area in a clean and organized manner.
  • Regularly interacts and reports to others within the larger group.
  • Regularly interacts with Baylor College of Medicine CCM staff as needed in matters of animal colony maintenance, welfare, and research procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Two years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comfortable with mouse handling.
  • Previous experience with computer data entry preferred.
