Job Description


This role is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wishes to improve her/is skills in the medical field and hospital industries. Thecandidate will be part of a highly productive, interdisciplinary team from engineers, to research coordinators, to surgeons, and will be involved in clinical and translational research in one of the largest medical complexes in the world: the Texas Medical Center. The research focus includes remote patient monitoring, digital health, and care in place. The candidate will benefit from an excellent interdisciplinary environment at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Medical Center with interdisciplinary collaboration with top digital health industries and other institutes including Rice University, VA Houston, as well as partnerships with Caltech, USC, UArizona, and UM through a NSF IUCRC Center to Stream HealthCare in Place (C2SHIP).

Job Duties

  • Supports in designing algorithm for image processing.
  • Supports in designing mobile applications
  • Contributes in data analysis and designing machine learning algorithms
  • Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Programming, image processing, and artificial intelligence experience. 
  • Experience with mobile application design, remote patient monitoring, digital health, and wearables.
  • PhD in Computer Science, Biomechanics, Electrical engineering, Biomedical engineering, Mechanical engineering or related fields.
