Job Description


This position will focus on clinical research and will work with the Principal Investigator, who is also the Chairman of Pediatrics, on a funded project to enroll young adolescents in an observational clinical trial and engage in research activities of a busy adolescent program.

Job Duties

  • Communicates in person, over the phone, and via email with collaborating researchers and community/national partners regarding logistics of the ongoing research.
  • Maintains study documents, participant files, and assist principal investigator by providing feedback on study procedures.
  • Collects, evaluates, enters, and tracks data.
  • Performs literature searches, summarizes information and data, and assists with analysis and scientific writing for journal articles on topics related to ongoing research.
  • Manages website for the research studies, making sure they are in compliance with NIH and BCM policies.
  • Assists with annual reports and other documents required by NIH.
  • Creates content for and manages study flyers and other recruitment and follow-up materials for study participantss.
  • Helps to develop and submit new grant applications and manage funded grants.
  • Manages study data and documentation, including completed surveys, informed consent forms, staff training logs, IRB correspondence, and travel and study expenses and reimbursements.
  • Submits data, study documents, and/or reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Assists with administrative tasks and other projects as needed, including educational initiatives related to topics in adolescent health.
  • Recruits patients, parents, and clinicians and obtains consent for participation in research study.
  • Works with research team to enroll young adolescents in an observational clinical trial.
  • Engages in the research activities of a busy adolescent program.   

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, education, psychology, social sciences or biological sciences field and relevant work/research experience with minimum of (2) years’ experience, or Master’s degree.
  • Experience and interest in adolescent health, public health, psychology, sexual orientation and gender identity, epidemiology, and statistical methods preferred.
  • Experience and comfort using computer applications (Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) (essential), statistical software (SPSS for statistical analysis, etc.) (preferred), and website management tools (preferred).


  • Candidates would ideally be able to make a two-year commitment to the position.
