Job Description


The Research Coordinator II will work with investigators in the Department of Medicine in the Section of Epidemiology and Population Sciences. This position will be working on Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) funded study of liver cancer among Hispanics in Texas and will work closely with maintaining contact with the study PI and 10 clinical study sites around the state. 

Job Purpose

Coordinates day to day activities of research protocols which include screening, enrollment, and monitoring of research participants. Ensures accurate data collection, documentation, organization and safety of research participants.

Job Duties

  • General day-to-day coordination of the study.
  • Orders supplies and equipment.
  • Administrative and regulatory tasks of the project, including IRB protocol approvals, renewals, and amendments.
  • Coordinates shipping of biosamples according to procedures outlined in study protocol.
  • Organizes project team meetings.
  • Maintains study binders and other research assistance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree.
  • Prefer a Master's in Public Health (MPH).
  • Previous experience with recruiting patients for clinical trials.
