Under the direction of the Assistant Director for Student and Financial Aid Systems, assists the Banner Student Lead Systems Analyst in the design, development and maintenance of software for the Banner Student, General, and Self-Service modules. Work collaborative with all ITS staff on projects that address the objectives and goals of the university. Provide secondary support for SSD Anydoc and Axiom, fsaATLAS, DegreeWorks, and Resource 25 and X25 support, and other systems supported by the Student Group. Serve as Technical Backup for Student Information Systems by completing assigned tasks and duties.

Knowledge, skills and abilities
Considerable knowledge of application configuration and deployment in Java EE/Web containers. Considerable knowledge of systems analysis and design techniques based on business need and requirements. Considerable knowledge of the use and application of industry standard APIs preferably Java EE APIs or alternatives. Good oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to lead software development projects and interact effectively with internal and external customers working in team environment. Demonstrated ability to effectively employ structured programming ability demonstrated by developing and maintaining complex applications in SQL, PL/SQL, and Java Demonstrated ability to maintain complex oracle packages, procedures, and functions.

Level and type of experience
Considerable application design and development experience. Considerable experience developing software using modern Java EE (EE 5+) or other Java-based web application development frameworks (e.g. Spring Framework, JBoss Seam, Grails). Some experience working in an Oracle database environment using SQL and PL/SQL. Some experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification
Considerable knowledge of the use and application of Java EE APIs or alternatives. Some experience working in a Linux server environment. Some experience working with Ellucian product suite. B.S. or B.A. in Computer Science, MIS or a related computing intensive field, or related experience.
Conditions of Employment

40-hour work week Monday-Friday; Some evenings and weekends; rotating on call.
